Green Ocean Coffee Website Rewrite
The Client:
Green Ocean Coffee is an Irish coffee company committed to combatting climate change. Every coffee sale directly supports oyster reseeding projects in Ireland, improving marine biodiversity and tackling the negative impact of climate change.
The Ask:
Green Ocean Coffee needed a website rewrite to appeal to a B2B audience of office managers and decision-makers. The goal was to encourage businesses to choose Green Ocean Coffee as their coffee supplier by emphasising their sustainable credentials, dedication to meaningful initiatives and the potential to align with corporate social responsibility (CSR). The client wanted to maintain a positive, solutions-focused tone that acknowledges the urgency of climate action without dwelling on negativity. The website’s main objective is to encourage the target audience to reach out and engage with Green Ocean Coffee and choose them as their coffee supplier.
The Answer:
I crafted copy that speaks directly to a B2B audience, focusing on practical benefits like sustainability credentials, community impact, and environmental influence. The tone balances passion with professionalism, ensuring the message maintains emotional resonance while staying aligned with corporate values. To clarify the connection between coffee and climate action, I highlighted the dual benefit of partnering with Green Ocean Coffee: premium coffee for businesses and measurable climate action. I made this clear throughout the website copy by using wordplay and straightforward yet inspiring language, balancing urgency with optimism, and focusing on the potential for collective improvement. I addressed the reader directly to make them feel involved and inspired to take action. I planned the copy structure carefully, using subheadings, bullet points and clear CTAs for easy navigation and clarity. It was also important to ensure the function of the oyster projects was simple and clear. On the Homepage and About Page, I used subheadings and bullet points to show how oysters help fight climate change. For those seeking more detail, I rewrote the Knowledge Base, making it easier to understand.

“Michelle worked with us to rewrite the website copy for our sustainable coffee brand, Green Ocean Coffee. She helped to reorient the website message in a more visitor-friendly manner. Michelle understood the objective well and delivered the revised copy efficiently and to a high standard. When you see the improvements made you realise how the previous copy wasn’t delivering in the way you hoped.” - David Lawlor, Director, Watermark Coffee.
